Senior Financial Accountant Required in Dubai - Dubai

Responsibilities

Assist Finance Operations team in ensuring accurate monthly GL close process, and internal and external reporting, meeting all deadlines;
Prepare and post journal entries for various core financial accounting processes;
Lead and manage various core financial accounting areas, including balance sheet reconciliations and other analysis for those areas;
Ensure the implementation and compliance of Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), IFRSs and use of best accounting practices;
Assist with internal audit and assist with external audit and statutory compliance;
Support the Financial Controller and Finance Director on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis;
Develop strong working relationships with team members and other key stakeholders;
Manage financial accounting team ensuring their career development and coaching.

Technical Competencies

Essential

Fully Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA or other recognised Western Accounting qualification;
Minimum of 3 years experience within a construction/engineering consultancy organisation, preferably in the Middle East;
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and working knowledge of other MS Office tools;
High standard of (numerical) presentation skills;
Excellent communication in English (both written and oral).
Experience of interacting with multiple businesses and finance functions;
Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment;
Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively.

Desirable

Big 4 experience as a senior associate or above (PwC/EY/KPMG/Deloitte);
Working knowledge of JD Edwards, Hyperion Finance Management (HFM), Smart View and other IT systems and databases;
knowledge of Data Modelling, PowerPivot and PowerBI tools.
