OVERALL OBJECTIVES

The job of a Bartender is executed satisfactorily when:

All rules & regulations strictly adhere to within the company including internal policy, as well as local regulations in the UAE.
Work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders. Their responsibilities include verifying age requirements, knowing alcohol pairing and tastes, knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks, processing payments, managing inventory, and cleaning bar supplies.
Ensure food and beverage compliance, restock bar inventory, decide menu items and manage the overall bar operations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope and Relationship

Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each client and maintain a safe environment by identifying the Client’s problems and having them removed
Keep the bar area clean in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department
Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the day or night and be able to account for all discrepancies in the final drawer tally
Mix all drinks based on the serving sizes as outlined in the company manual to keep drink costs at a minimum
Develop an efficient work pace that always keeps the customers at the bar and in the dining room with a satisfying process.
To supervise the assigned station/section, serve Food & Beverage to guests, and ensure a courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service consistent with SBC Standards Policies & Procedures to maximize guest satisfaction.

Operational

Report to Bar Supervisor and be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day running of the designated bar or station.
To always ensure impeccable service ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are met.
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
Clean bars, work areas, and tables and prepare for the following day’s operation
Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.
Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.
Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
Accept guest payments, process credit card charges, and make change (if applicable).
Wash and sterilize glassware.
Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks, appetizers for bar patrons.
Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
Clear and reset tables in bar area.
Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
Ensure the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies is done accordingly
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
Perform General cleaning duties and other restaurant tasks as required by management or leadership.
To have full working knowledge and capability to perform the job, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of Work to the standard set.
To be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub departments of the Food & Beverage Division or any other Department of the hotel as assigned.
To perform all duties and tasks when rotated or assigned to another Department as per the set standard for that Department.
To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
To perform opening and closing procedures established for the Place of Work as assigned.
To monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.

General

To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employee’s Handbook and the club policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
To report for duty punctually always wearing the correct uniform.
To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager and supervisor.
To respond to any changes in the restaurant function as dictated by the club management.
To project always a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.

Occasional Duties:

To assist in carrying out quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly inventory of operating equipment.
To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional objectives and responsibilities can be added at any time, depending on the need of the business and the Beach Club.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

Possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Have a working knowledge of beers, wines, liquors, and common drink recipes.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of years of experience as a Bartender working in a similar high-profile, high-volume operation or 5* hotel.
Possess basic math skills and could handle money and operate a cash register or POS system
Hotel School Graduate
Certification as a mixologist from a reputable bartending school preferred
Be at least 21 years of age, able to communicate clearly and effectively
