Position Overview:
The accountant for a building material shop is responsible for managing the financial transactions, recording of accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including sales, purchases, expenses, and revenues.
Record all transactions in the accounting system or software. Manage accounts receivable by invoicing customers, tracking payments, and following up on outstanding invoices. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Generate financial reports for management review and decision-making. Perform general administrative duties related to accounting, such as filing, organizing documents, and maintaining records.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience as an accountant or similar role, preferably in a retail or building material environment.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
