Cost Accountant Required in Dubai - Dubai

The Cost Accountant position is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing and Production cost analysis and inventory for all business locations. The cost accountant is responsible for comparing standard cost to actual cost and identifying and explaining variances by product, segment, and production jobs. The cost accountant must also work closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel to resolve variances and adjust Bills of Materials.

Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain a cost accounting system that ensures accurate costing.
2. Calculating manufacturing costs (COGM), and cost of goods sold (COGS).
3. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual cost budgeting and forecasting reports.
4. Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, or manufacturing methods to
determine effects on cost.
5. Reviewing cost allocation assumptions and rates of Labor, and Overheads to
recommend cost-effective solutions.
6. Prepare a Variance Analysis report to highlight standard and actual costs.
7. Prepare, Review, and Update standard costs and ensure accuracy in the Bill of Materials.
8. Study and collect data to determine the costs of business activities such as raw material
purchases, inventory, labor, and Overheads.
9. Responsible for account reconciliation of physical inventories and cycle counts.
10. Prepare periodic inventory reserves reconciliation, analyzing inventory for risk, and
monitoring.
11. Assist in month-end and year-end closing by analyzing inventory and preparing
supplemental reports as needed.
12. Work on special projects as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or similar.
2. Professional qualifications as CMA, ACCA, CPA.
3. Three (3) to five (5) years in manufacturing cost accounting experience is preferred.
4. Proficiency in Excel, and experience in manipulating large databases.
5. Significant hands-on experience using an integrated ERP system.
6. Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost accounting.
7. Understanding of IFRS as it applies to a manufacturing environment.
8. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
9. Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments.
10. Must be a team player who also works well independently.
