We are actively searching for a Senior Accountant to join our Group Finance Team in Abu Dhabi. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for complete day-to-day financial accounting which includes analysis of financial information, maintenance of financial records, reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial management reports for subsidiary companies (covering Capital Markets, Healthcare, Real Estate and Hospitality).
Role Scope
Verifies, posts and reconciles accounts payable and receivable and assesses impact on cash flow
Analyses balance sheets and general ledger accounts and prepares financial reports
Monitors bank accounts, liaises with bankers and prepares bank reconciliations
Consolidates financial information, determines overall cash position and reports financial status
Responsible for end to end accounting process and general ledger. Preparation and review of journal entries, monthly and year end account reconciliation
Liaises with Auditors to get the complete annual audit of the companies’ books of accounts
Handles financial and management reporting and serves as an advisor for the subsidiary companies
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Review, investigate, and resolve errors and inconsistencies with intercompany accounts.
Take ownership of duties and work under minimal supervision
Reviews/Develop existing accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance or related field
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Must have CA, CPA or ACCA certification or other relevant professional qualifications
Must have extensive job exposure in accounting and capable of handling all accounting functions up to finalization of accounts
3-5 years’ experience in audit at a reputable accounting firm
Prior work experience in a corporate group setting preferred
Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
Knowledge of computerized system of accounting (i.e. ERP) and MS Office
Must be a team player and able to work under pressure
