Senior Accountant Required in Dubai
This role is responsible for supervising and leading the Accounts Payable (AP) function to ensure accurate and timely processing of all AP transactions for the Group, encompassing invoice entry, supplier statement reconciliation, communication with suppliers, and payment processing, as well as assisting with reporting and analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all invoices are being entered to the finance system on a timely basis;
• Ensure that correct invoice matching and checking processes are being followed by the team;
• Ensure that supplier reconciliations are performed regularly, for both external and intercompany suppliers;
• Prepare the weekly vendor payment run, liaising with the Procurement team to prioritise invoices for payment depending on the funds available;
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage their expectations regarding payment dates;
• Prepare bank reconciliations for allocated bank accounts and review reconciliations prepared by other AP team member;
• Ensure that the AP team are able to adhere to the monthly close timetable and complete all assigned tasks;
• Prepare accurate information on actual and forecasted payments for regular submission to International SOS;
• Support Procurement team to set up new vendors in the Sage system;
• Liaise with intercompany counterparties to resolve issues and reconcile balances on a monthly basis;
• Assist with ad-hoc requests for information and analysis;
• Ensure compliance with all internal processes and suggest ways to continually improve;
• Help ensure the Sage system is being used to the maximum benefit of the organisation;
• Help to foster a team environment which encourages a culture of support and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Either a qualified accountant with relevant experience or qualified by experience in a similar role with 5+ years’ experience
Experienced user of a Financial ERP System, ideally Sage X3
Sound verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate tact, diplomacy and discretion given the financially sensitive nature of the role
Diligent, methodical and accurate
Strong time management and organisational skills
Be a team player, supporting other members of the Finance function to ensure success as a group
