DATA CENTER ENGINEER REQUIRED IN DUBAI - Dubai
A data center engineer is an indispensable member of data center team. They are the ones who provide the necessary support and conduct specific operations, ensuring optimal functioning and minimal downtime.
Working location:
Basra oil field, Iraq (highest security level protection)
Work Schedule:
28 working days + 28 days vacation
(Food and accommodation covered)
Duties and responsibilities:
• Ensure proper and smooth maintenance.
• Provide necessary technical support to the data Center.
• Perform power cycles, swap out failed components, handle storage media, and perform troubleshooting
• Perform cable installations, hardware rack / stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard Data Center processes
• Physically assist in moving and racking equipment
• Supporting deployment of on-site DC physical infrastructure including Servers, Net Devices, SANS, Window Server OS
• Supporting parts/component replacement and physical hardware troubleshooting
• As required, assist Data Center supervisor with shipping/receiving and inventory management to address high work volumes
• Ensures compliance with CO+I business units and service-level policies
• Have excellent knowledge about network infrastructure, operating systems and hardware deployment of all kinds.
• Work towards improving the security of the facility and its data.
• Answer client queries with prompt and satisfactory responses.
• Monitor routine occurrences in tasks related to the Data Center to identify issues early. Once identified, these issues then should be promptly resolved.
Qualification & Training requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in any of computer science, computer systems engineering,
electronic engineering and other related disciplines
ertifications from IT companies such as Microsoft and Cisco Technologies will be a plus
• Flexibility to work non-business hours (shifts) that may include nights, weekends and/or holidays
• Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of Data Center activities
• Establish and enhance strong working relationships with various internal teams and external suppliers
• Able to work in a climate controlled and noisy environment for long periods of time • Ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to triage and multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Quick but also precise, able to follow procedures accurately and reliably
• General willingness to jump in and tackle challenges as they arise

Experience
• Experience with Data Center environments, working in a co-location facility
• Server hardware experience to initialize hardware and perform initial configuration
• Documenting Level-1 support processes for working with hardware vendors
• Creating and maintaining inventory for equipment in a data center facility
• Racking hardware and cable management
Language proficiency, computer and software skills
• MS Office:
- Excel – advanced

• English – upper intermediate (verbal & written)
