Chief Accountant Required in Dubai - Dubai
Our Clinet is currently seeking a seasoned Chief Accountant to join their team in Dubai. This pivotal role is responsible for leading the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with international financial reporting standards, this role witll be reported to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the accounting operations, including but not limited to ledger maintenance, revenue, expense, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly and year-end closure of accounts, including bank reconciliation, and submit reports to the FinanceManager as per prescribed deadlines.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Oversee the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory returns and ensure compliance with all VAT legislation.
Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report and liaise with external auditors to facilitate the completion of audit procedures.
Prepare detailed budget analysis and variance reports to assist management in performance monitoring and decision-making.
Implement and monitor payment protocols for management and third-party vendors.
Train, supervise, and mentor junior staff in the accounting department.
Enhance the automation of the accounting and reporting process.
Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting and financial management practices, with at least 2 years in a food and beverage industry.
Experience with accounting software and databases; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures comply with international financial reporting standards.
Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
