Business Development Manager Required in Dubai - Dubai
Strategic Responsibilities:
Provide strategic support to the Innovation Center by translating strategic objectives into sectional objectives and employee targets and monitor progress periodically to ensure that they are being completed.
Develop strategically important research and innovation relationships with key stakeholders from the private sector both regionally and internationally as well as engage with stakeholders from the healthcare sector to build a pipeline of partnering opportunities to advance the missions of Dubai Health.
Develop and support the growth of the Dubai Health Innovation Platform into a strategic partner model by building relationships with private sector partners, sourcing new projects, and on-boarding new members.
Formulate an operating plan for research and innovation activities that deliver long-term sustainability.
Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget for the Department and provides adequate justifications required to obtain the necessary approvals.
Core Responsibilities:
Maintain awareness of collaborative research and innovation funding opportunities and work with partners to pursue collaborative grant applications and secure external income.
Advise on specialist project management support for major R&D projects, working with external partners to develop project plans and manage specialist issues such as financial, IP and legal.
Develop and build networks and communication channels with key healthcare sector stakeholders in the region and internationally including coordination and management of business engagement programs with key partners, such as, for example, project co-development sessions, student placements, and international visits.
Engage with colleagues across Dubai Health through support, training and advice for Dubai Health staff as well as students working with private sector partners. to establish seamless integration and engagement with partners from the private sector across care, education, discovery and giving missions.
Ensure delivery of structured reporting and performance indicator updates to allow near and long-term tracking of business alliance activities.
Developmental Responsibilities:
Sets performance objectives for the team while ensuring that the operational plan of the department will be achieved.
Leads, manages, evaluates performance, and motivates the employees of the section while ensuring that the overall objectives of the Department are met.
Monitors the use of the Department’s resources and finding ways to utilize resources effectively.
Conducts knowledge sharing sessions to transfer work related knowledge and skills acquired in the functional area.
Ensures that all new employees in the section are thoroughly inducted into the responsibilities by implementing the onboarding program.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (healthcare, life sciences)
Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification (desirable)
Experience:
5 years of experience of working in academia or business at a senior level.
Experience of either working in, or closely with, a healthcare organization(s) of scale.
Experience, and clear evidence, of building major partnerships resulting in significant value generation.
