Brief Description:
We are looking for an exceptional accountant to manage all financial transactions from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The Accountant’s responsibilities will include preparing financial reports, setting up & monitoring project budgets, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for complete accuracy and spotting numerical mistakes. you will provide accurate quantitative information on the financial position and cash flows of the business, while ensuring compliance with all regulations.
The Role:
Manage all accounting transactions
Accounts receivable and follow up
Accounts payable and payments
Setting up costings spreadsheet for company proposals
Creating, updating, and reporting on Project Budgets expenditure
Preparing & presenting quarterly board reports
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Bank reconciliation
Petty cash closing
Payroll review and analysis
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
Preparing monthly financial statements Financial forecasts and cash flow preparation
Preparing VAT returns
Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
Track and monitor accounts payable
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
Assist the team in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
Assist with other accounting projects
What you bring to the team:
Essential:
At least two year’s experience in an accounting role
Bachelor’s in accounting, finance or equivalent qualification
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g., SAP/QuickBooks)
A willingness to jump in and be part of a team, helping colleagues and managers when required to support business needs (for example: occasionally assisting colleagues at festivals to ensure visitors receive a warm welcome to our events)
Desirable:
Experience working in the tourism / leisure sector within an accounting environment
Skills:
Proven accounting experience
Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
A strong team player who enjoys being part of a large team
You must be a self-starter and looking to take responsibility for the success of this new role
Excellent organisational and communication skills - both written and verbal
Language Ability
Must be able to produce grammatically correct reports, memos, and letters in English
Excellent understanding of the English language
Arabic desirable but not essential
