Salary Range: AED3,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
Description: We are seeking a Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about animal care and has experience in handling and restraining animals, providing nursing care to hospitalized patients, administering treatments, performing diagnostic tests, preparing animals for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the practice. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to educate pet owners on animal health. Most importantly, the candidate should love animals and be empathetic.
Responsibilities:
- Confidently handle and restrain animals
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including patient monitoring and health checking, feeding, medical bath, nail clipping, and walking animals
- Administer treatments including injections, tablets, drips, and blood transfusions
- Perform diagnostic tests, e.g. blood sampling, urine analysis, and x-rays
- Prepare animals for surgery and perform some minor procedures, e.g. suturing wounds and dental hygiene
- Monitor anesthesia
- Assist veterinary surgeons with operations
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the practice
- Communicate with pet owners, gaining their trust and reassuring them about their animal's treatment
- Educate pet owners on animal health, including vaccinations, worming, flea prevention, and appropriate nutrition
- Support student veterinary nurses undertaking placements
- Work to the professional code of conduct
Skill Requirements:
- Experience in handling and restraining animals
- Knowledge of nursing care for hospitalized patients
- Ability to administer treatments including injections, tablets, drips, and blood transfusions
- Ability to perform diagnostic tests, e.g. blood sampling, urine analysis, and x-rays
- Knowledge of preparing animals for surgery and performing some minor procedures, e.g. suturing wounds and dental hygiene
