Objectives of the role
To assume ownership of all tax related reporting and assist in adhoc projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1) Maintain (in conjunction with operating companies) a compliance calendar for direct and indirect taxes and monitor it for compliance.
2) Monitor movements in Effective Tax Rate (ETR) and prepare analysis for movements on Actuals vs Forecast vs Budget.
3) Assist in preparation of transfer pricing documentation for the operating entities, where applicable. Assist in providing information relating to transfer pricing issues & tax audits.
4) Assist in complying with the Economic Substance Regulations (“ESR”) for the entities registered in Cayman Islands.
5) Preparation and submission of Fosroc Supply FZE UK VAT Return.
6) Preparation and submission of UAE VAT Returns for Fosroc Supply FZE & Fosroc Global Trading Limited (Dubai Branch).
7) Review royalty workings and ensure it is consistent with the license agreement. Prepare extension/ amendment/ waiver letters as applicable to License Agreements.
8) Post the royalty entries in Microsoft Dynamics on a monthly basis and issue invoices, where required. Attend to audit queries in relation to the royalty postings.
9) Assist the Group Tax Manager in adhoc projects (such as Corporate structure reorganisation, set up of legal entities, Tax Residence Certificate, etc) and coordinate with external tax consultants/ lawyers for advice.
10) Develop an automated tool to monitor legislation changes impacting the Group entities Assist in providing information relating to transfer pricing issues & tax audits.
11) Review tax worksheets, tax provisions, deferred tax balances.
12) Compile from all OpCo’s and prepare the deferred tax disclosure working for the consolidated financial statements of Fosroc Group Holdings Limited.
13) Review and provide feedback on the corporate tax return of the OpCo’s.
14) Monitor the tax advisory costs incurred at the Centre.
15) Liaise with the Centre & OpCo’s and consolidate supporting documents evidencing payment of withholding tax on Royalties & Management Fees paid to Fosroc International Limited & evidence benefits received by the OpCo’s.
Knowledge/experience/skills/personal attributes
Qualified Accountant (Chartered or equivalent) plus 2 years experience working directly in a tax environment.
Good knowledge of tax accounting principles.
Good understanding of direct and indirect taxation principles, including transfer pricing
Good computer skills; ERP, Microsoft Office
Strong communication (including report writing) and inter personal skills.
