We invite applications from outstanding candidates for the exciting role of Sommelier.
Key Responsibilities of this role:
Assist guests with their wine selection and serve wines/drinks according to the SOP, while proving friendly and professional service.
Support in coaching other team members in wine related education.
Ensure the wine list is up to date with correct vintages and process, all products are stored properly in the cellar and on display, all liquor service equipment are clean
Ensure that the proper mise-en-place is prepared for each meal service and served at the correct temperature
Organize, supervise and assist with the service of beverages
Assist with monitoring and managing all glassware to ensure that all stock is maintained in an appropriate condition
Keep operating costs to a minimum by efficient and responsible use of resources such as glassware and other.
Liaise and coordinate with wine purveyors for wine updates, training and promotions
Work with Culinary team to devise harmonious food & wine pairings for menu updates
Maintain updated Wine List
Regularly inspect quality of opened/stored wine in F&B Outlets
Display professional salesmanship and positive sales techniques at all times
We are looking for:
We are seeking candidates with Personality, Passion and Positivity.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an upscale restaurant as a sommelier preferably in U.A.E.
Internationally recognized professional certification such as WSET (Level 2 or 3), or another Certificated Sommeliers Course.
Excellent communication skills (English language) and impeccable manners
Additional language ability, in particular Russian, will be a distinct advantage.
Practical and proven ability to pair food and wine
A continually creative and innovative personality
