Senior Accountant Required in Dubai

IMMEDIATE START - Senior Accountant / Financial Manager

Australian owned, Dubai based rapidly growing ecommerce furniture company is seeking a Senior Accountant with minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior role.

Requirements for the role:

• High level English proficiency

• Excel analysis – strong aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

• Must have minimum 5 years UAE previous experience as the person responsible for: -

Managing inventory / Warehousing of inventory / barcoding / stock takes

Preparing and submitting Tax/VAT returns

Managing General Ledgers and preparation of financial reporting for Directors

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance - preference given to those who hold CA or CPA qualifications

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Proven ability to work in a challenging, fast paced, team environment under pressure

• Team player with ‘can do’ attitude who can role with the punches

Preferable / Nice to have experience:

• Experience migrating data between IT systems (Shopify / QuickBooks Desktop)

• Shopify

• QuickBooks Desktop

• Ecommerce

Responsibilities include

• Preparation of tax returns and assistance with tax audits

• Preparation of Landed Costs, order schedules and procurement summaries for major suppliers

• Implementation of new accounting software

• Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable

• Producing error-free accounting reports and presentation to Directors

• Interrogation of financial information

• Identification of errors and implementation of procedures to improve efficiency

• Provide technical support and advice to the Directors

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

• Management of accounting team / bookkeepers

• Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process

• Provide input into department’s goal setting process

• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
