Senior Accountant Required in Dubai - Dubai

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the UAE, specializing in the contracting/construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing accurate financial reports. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting, cost control, and project-based financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivables, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
Manage project cost accounting, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and proper allocation to projects.
Perform regular budget vs actual analysis and variance reporting for ongoing construction projects.
Handle financial forecasting, cash flow management, and resource allocation to meet project financial requirements.
Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and filing of returns in a timely manner.
Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring accurate documentation and financial transparency.
Reconcile bank statements, project accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and support for project planning and execution.
Oversee payroll processing for employees in compliance with UAE labor laws.
Assist with financial planning, tax planning, and risk management strategies.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA certification is a plus).
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting within the contracting/construction industry in the UAE.
In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, project cost control, and financial management.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, or other ERP systems.
Excellent understanding of UAE VAT laws and other relevant financial regulations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to managing financial tasks.
Previous experience with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with UAE labor laws and payroll regulations.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.

Salary: AED 10,000 - 15,000
