Senior Accountant Required in Dubai - Dubai
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health of the company by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This position involves managing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Internal Controls: Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls by developing, implementing, and monitoring accounting policies and procedures.
Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations during audit processes.
Tax Compliance: Support tax filings and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including income, sales, and use taxes.
Cost Accounting: Collaborate with the manufacturing and R&D teams to analyze and report on product costing, inventory management, and cost variances.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
Financial Analysis: Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support business initiatives and evaluate financial performance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Experience: Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is a strong plus. But not required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance. Experience with cost accounting and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
