Registered Nurse ( Dermatology/Cosmetic experience/Infection control)
A dermatology nurse works with a focus on the treatment and care of skin and various conditions, diseases, wounds, and infections associated with the dermis and epidermis. Dermatology nurses must exhibit familiarity with aspects of care such as skin cancer surgery and recuperation, plastic surgery treatments and recovery, as well as other skin afflictions, such as damage due to sun exposure.
Their role is crucial in protecting and maintaining the body's largest organ. Dermatology nurses support physicians during office procedures, mediate outpatient procedures and provide patients with information and education to help them properly care for their skin.
Nurses have a crucial role in the care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Dermatology nurses can expect to have the following responsibilities
Responsibilities:.
Assist with skin exams to diagnose patients
Monitor patients' medical history
Record and report test results
Explain test results
Provide pre-operative care
Help inform patients of post-operative procedures
Assist in caring for patients post-operation
Perform and/or assist with cosmetic procedures
Help treat various skin wounds such as burns,skin tears etc
Educate patients on proper skincare
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in nursing.
Current state licensure as a registered nurse/ assistant Nurse and BLS certification required.
American Heart Association BLS/CPR
ACLS certification
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff.
Basic computer skills.
Professional, friendly attitude.
Dermatology/Cosmetic experience required.
