Description
Our client – a leading Real Estate and property development Organisation is currently looking for a dynamic Quantity Surveyor to join their team to manage the pre-contract quantity surveying and administration of construction projects.
The position reports to Project Manager on all aspects of pre-contract Quantity surveying activities. The duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to :
• Perform quantity surveying for the different work items completed in the building by the Main contractor / Sub Contractor and to carry out monthly valuations of work in progress (measurement of actual works done).
• Quantity take-off (calculation of Quantity) from AutoCad drawings.
• Commercial vetting / valuation of contractor’s works for monthly IPC’s.
• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities as the client’s representative.
• Undertake costs analysis and assist in establishing the client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
• Performing risk and value management and cost control.
• Advising on procurement strategy.
• Preparing and analysing costing for tenders.
• Review of contractual documents to ensure compliance with program requirements and regulations.
• Preparation and finalization of final accounts.
• Identify new subcontractors and suppliers to effect cost reductions without affecting the quality.
• Ensure that existing subcontractors and suppliers comply with our quality standards.
The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of Civil, Structural, Architectural and Interior decoration engineering aspects. Should be thorough with standard methods of measurements. Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical engineering including Fire fighting & protection, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, High & Low voltage, Fire alarm etc. is essential. Should possess degree in civil engineering from any recognized University or Diploma in civil engineering from any recognized polytechnic institute. AutoCAD training or Certificate will be an added advantage. A minimum 4 year of proven quantity surveying experience for Degree Engineers and 6 years for Diploma Engineers is a must. UAE driving license is must. Superior communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive work environment is critical to this role. Candidates who can join immediately need apply.
