Oncology Staff Nurse Required in Dubai - Dubai
Position Description:
Provides direct patient care and coordinates patient care-related activities using the scientific process of nursing. Nursing care is given to Paediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care and promotes the highest standards of clinical nursing care established on evidence-based practice in accordance to established policy, procedure and protocols.
Maintains and updates skills and knowledge in medication administration including chemotherapy and blood and blood products transfusion.
Maintains and updates skills and knowledge in venous access including (peripheral lines and all type of central line).
Creates and safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Maintain records for patient care and assist audit of nursing documentations and departmental records as requested.
Maintains and updates skills and knowledge in performing and assisting procedures
Develops and provides related educational materials and education to patients and family.
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
Coordinates the clinical operations of the unit.
Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients and family and monitors and resolves customer satisfaction issues.
Assists in identifying and reporting accidents or incidents to the unit manager for further review and action by the Quality Improvement Department.
Manages material resources safely and effectively.
Serve as a clinical resource and supports all nursing staff, especially new staff, less experienced staff, or rotating staff.
Awareness of quality initiatives and support in collection of data and care improvement for positive accreditation standards and outcomes.
Participates in facility surveys and inspections as requested.
Performs clerical duties when needed.
Coordinates with the Operating Room (OR) Coordinator and patient to schedule the operations when applicable.
Checks crash cart, refrigeration temperature checklist, etc.
Calls patients to inform them of approved labs and images and ensure scheduling takes place.
Initiates and handles Intra Venous Access Device (IVAD) line for administering cytotoxic and biologic agents and fluids.
Manages kidney transplant patients when applicable.
•Manages bone marrow transplant patients when applicable.
•Manages patients with infectious diseases when applicable.
•Manages immunosuppressed patients when applicable.
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum of three (3) years full-time course duration).
Must hold a valid License/Registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment.
Must hold a minimum of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or others according to the scope of practice.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent post-graduate experience.
Chemotherapy certification preferred.
