About the role:
This is a hands-on technical role where you will be expected to work closely with the IT departments of our clients, to develop cybersecurity and information technology solutions catered to their needs.
Working in a start-up this role has massive potential for growth, with exciting and ambitious networking projects planned for the immediate and near future that we would expect the successful applicant to play a key role in the delivery of these projects. Our client base is between Africa and Europe.
You will be empowered to make technical and design decisions with recommendations that best-fit customer requirements and the IT team’s vision and strategy.
This role will be based in their office in Dubai – IFZA, and we have a flexible working regime (hybrid regime).
About you:
We are looking for a confident, creative, and self-motivated individual who thrives in tackling problems head-on, we are looking to find an individual with a strong networking background with a recent move/interest in security operations.
We want you to be comfortable explaining various networking concepts to stakeholders and clients and look to take the role of networking SME within a growing start-up.
We are looking for someone with experience and knowledge of Network Infrastructure, with a focus on cybersecurity, and the tooling required to do so.
It would be beneficial to have (but not essential) certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, CySA+, Network+, or other relevant certifications.
Requirements
Role and Responsibilities:
Maintaining computer networks and environments
Administering computer networks and environments
Designing, coordinating, and implementing networks and network security measures
Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network problems
Configure networks, monitor network performance, and implement adjustment
Skills and Experience:
Strong networking knowledge
Knowledge of a programming language such as Python
Knowledge of TCP/IP and related network protocols: knowledge of standard network protocols like TCP, ARP, ICMP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, SNMP etc., and accompanying protocol/packet analysis/manipulation tools
Knowledge of information security protection/detection and authentication systems (firewalls, IDS, IPS, anti-virus, etc.)
Knowledge of commonly accepted information security principles and practices, as well as techniques attackers would use to identify vulnerabilities, gain unauthorized access, escalate privileges, and access restricted information
