To ensure that the company meets its performance targets through the development and maintenance of NG Datacenter, servers (Physical, Virtual & Cloud) and related environments.
The Job
Datacenter & Servers Responsibilities:
Support physical and virtual server’s environment at Nazih Group and related entities on day-to-day basis. This includes but not limited to server preparation, operating system installation and hardening, patches installation, application and database installations, RAID and Hard-drives configuration, HDD Partitioning, troubleshooting software and hardware issues, on-going maintenance, event logs monitoring, checking and fixing of all critical events on servers.
Support for Operating systems tasks including Windows (Mandatory) and SUSE environment (is a plus)
Monitor, diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve Servers/hardware system issues – in NG data center - to ensure optimal hardware performance through software updates and replacing failing parts in timely manner when necessary – as per incident management procedure
Ensure capacity planning of server’s infrastructure by matching available resources with forecasted IT projects and company growth; Planning includes recommendations to upgrade clusters, servers, CPUs, Memory, storage and other related areas.
Maintain storage hardware (SAN/NAS) including tasks like data growth planning, creation of partitions and using in new VMs, memory usage monitoring, backup and restore, high-availability, and performing necessary updates when needed.
Perform regular patching and security updates for all hardware environments
Perform Daily/Weekly/Monthly preventive maintenance to Monitor the IT servers and related peripherals and ensure necessary action to avoid incidents
Implement necessary notification systems (Automated Reports/ Manual Reports) to communicate hardware statuses and warnings through email/SMS to key stakeholder (IT Manager). Monitor all key management systems to ensure that any problem is rapidly dealt with and any defects remedied.
Conduct Regular inspections on environmental factors of Data center room (like power, cooling systems, UPS System, fire-prevention, humidity, etc.…) to ensure they are operational and efficient
Participate in the development of IT Strategy – regarding New Technology related to Cloud, Servers, security appliances in the Data-center and all related technologies/systems.
Prepare necessary budgetary information for IT Budget planning – after environmental scanning of all emerging trends and technologies that will improve NG Technology environment.
Advise on the procurement of new data center equipment – as per IT Procurement procedure
Provide regular reporting of all ongoing projects with status and compliance to set timescales and budgets.
Maintain an up-to-date documentation of implemented configurations/diagrams with user-manuals of regular operations.
Mail Server & Active Directory Tasks:
Setup & Maintain Mail Server (MS Exchange) including user-accounts & mailboxes maintenance, monitoring incoming and outgoing email messages, filter emails, checking of Security Appliance messages and notifications (Barracuda), email relaying & AV definition updates – along with backup, archiving, security and restoring of files – to cover both onsite and CLOUD (Office 366).
Maintenance and administration of Windows Active Directory including infrastructure design, troubleshooting/repair tasks on AD, OU, Group policies, Domain controllers, DNS, user-accounts and related services
Monitor and issue reports related to the reliability and security of the AD domain
Manage the Domain Controller hardware and ensure security and high-availability
Manage the AD accounts including Creation/deletion/management of objects, i.e. local user accounts, groups, workstations, servers, printers, etc. in their OU hierarchy
Management and creation of AD Group policies that will ensure security of all IT Assets/Data (Server level, user level) while controlling and managing the level of privileges and permissions to end-users.
Security and High-availability Tasks:
Planning and execution of the backup/Restore procedure including Servers, file-servers, appliances, and workstations – using onsite and cloud technologies (VEAM, one-driver, etc.…)
Implement all necessary security measures to ensure that data systems are secure from data loss or misuse.
Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources including planning, execution and rehearsals of disaster recovery plans.
Prepare and Send regular Security awareness emails to end-users and provide necessary training for latest trends in security/attacks
IT-Support Tasks:
Follow-up and provide resolutions to open IT Helpdesk tickets related to areas of responsibilities – through physical visit or remote connections to end-users workstations (on need basis)
Train staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the PC host computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
Perform troubleshooting as required and involve outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations (on need basis)
Other Tasks:
Participate in cross-functional team projects to implement new or updated technology.
Manage and monitor installed Attendance machines and generate related attendance reports
Manage and keep up-to-date IT Inventory (Hardware and Licenses)
Backup network engineer for tasks related to corporate network infrastructure including switches, routers, VPN, LAN and WAN (Optional task)
The Person
Bachelor’s degree in computer related subject.
At least 8 years of experience in information systems.
Microsoft certified (Mandatory).
MS Exchange certified (is a plus).
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
A broad understanding of IT Datacenter environment.
Deep knowledge in servers and virtual environment, MS Exchange and Active Directory.
Motivated, goal oriented, persistent.
