Zayed National Museum, the national museum of the UAE, will narrate the rich history of the land and the region and tell the story of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, his unification of the United Arab Emirates and the UAE’s long-standing cultural connections across the world.
Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Lord Norman Foster, the museum was founded in the spirit of Sheikh Zayed’s work and strongly held values, which encompassed a passionate belief in education, conservation, environment, sustainability, heritage, and culture—all underpinned by his humanitarianism and strong faith.
Zayed National Museum will hold in trust a collection of art and artefacts from the ancient and living cultures of the UAE, Arabia, and the broader Middle East. It will also be the primary institution in the UAE to display material related to the life and achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed.
A centre of learning and discussion, the museum will actively research the UAE’s history and culture through archaeological fieldwork, archive research and the gathering of oral histories.

The Role
The Food and Beverages (F&B) Unit Head leads and manages the consistent functioning of F&B outlets across Zayed National Museum and is responsible to ensure that all outlets are profitable and compliant with internal policies and external regulations and that staff are trained to the visitor experience standards of the museum.
Pre-Opening
· Work with the Director of Development & Commercial Services to establish the F&B function, determine the first-year priorities and select external F&B operators
· Oversee the preparation the F&B spaces for the opening of Zayed National Museum.
· Support the selected F&B operators in the on-time delivery of F&B spaces by acting as the main point of contact with the relevant authorities to ensure the relevant approvals are obtained.
· Work with the digital & technology team to ensure the appropriate F&B POS technology is in place for opening
· Oversee the recruitment and training of retail staff by the provider, ensuring adherence to museum visitor experience standards.
Ongoing
· Outline the retail and F&B proposition, service offerings, outsourcing and promotional strategy .
· Procure and manage the F&B service providers
· Detail and align the retail & F&B product/menu and price offerings with the service providers
· Coordinate with marketing for all F&B branding decisions (shop and product related)
· Develop the F&B management SOP
· Create and evaluates F&B and Retail strategies from proposals to implementation.
· Revise the F&B operators' performance and status reports on visitor satisfaction, revenue and activities to provide advice and recommendations for further actions to the Director.
· Ensures quality control of F&B operators through compliance with ZNM policies, ministerial guidelines, health and safety and other required international and regulatory standards.
· Ensures that F&B providers are abiding current contract terms through monitoring offering, pricing and range of products, quality of service and on the ground management resolving issues as and when required.
· Oversee all F&B daily operations performance including customer service, offering, revenue and maintenance issues, as well as ensuring escalation of any complaints, as required.
· Develops promotions and commercial opportunities of the F&B outlets to tourism partners, resellers and other entities.
· Provides F&B expertise to other departments, as required.
· Act as Main point of contact for the events & venue management team on requests and enquires for the use of Zayed National Museum space from F&B.
· Ensures operational excellence of outsourced F&B providers in achieving KPI’s, working towards establishing a sustainable financial model by achieving any set financial targets and driving internal process improvement and efficiency.
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience as F&B Manager or Venue Manager in institutions such as 5* Hotels and high-end restaurants, or at a large scale visitor / leisure attraction with multiple F&B outlets.
Knowledge of leasing & tenant / operator management for F&B outlets.
Experience of developing or contributing to sales strategies.
Experience of managing third- party contractors.
Knowledge of excellent customer service and visitor needs.
Advanced level of point of sale software, sales analysis reporting, Microsoft Excel knowledge to review sales performance in F&B space.
Knowledge of the local market and customer expectations in the UAE.
Fluency in Arabic & English.
Preferred Experience
· Previous experience of managing F&B spaces in a museum or cultural institution.
Required Education / Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Studies or Equivalent
