A barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, primarily coffee-based, to customers. In addition to preparing beverages, a barista is also expected to take care of the café and the space within it.
Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation: Baristas are skilled in making a range of coffee-based drinks, including espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and other specialty beverages. They ensure that each drink is prepared according to quality standards, including proper measurements, temperatures, and presentation. They may also make adjustments based on customer preferences.
Customer Service: Baristas greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner. They patiently and attentively take customer orders, answer questions about the menu, and recommend beverages or food items. They strive to provide exceptional customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Cash Register Operation: Baristas handle cash registers to process customer payments accurately. They are responsible for efficiently completing transactions, providing appropriate change, and maintaining cash register accuracy throughout their shift. They may also handle credit or debit card transactions and document sales.
Cleaning and Maintaining Equipment: Baristas are responsible for keeping all coffee-making equipment and tools clean and tidy, including coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and utensils.
