Position Overview
As an Accountant at Eaton Marine LLC, you will play a vital role in our financial operations, focusing on the production of monthly management accounts with a particular emphasis on project updates. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the company's payroll. We are seeking an individual with expertise in project accounting, payroll processing, and a proven ability to produce accurate and timely project updates within the framework of monthly financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Accounting: Manage project financials, ensuring accurate and timely recording of expenses, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis for multiple projects.
- Monthly Management Accounts:Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. The role also requires an emphasis on including project-specific financial information and updates.
- Project Updates: Regularly provide detailed project updates within the monthly management accounts, highlighting key financial metrics, project progress, and any issues or deviations from the original plan.
- Payroll Management: Oversee the company's payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This includes processing payroll, reconciling payroll accounts, and preparing payroll reports.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor, update, and report on monthly cash flows, with a focus on project-related cash flow considerations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring they align with project updates.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent qualification is a plus.
- Proven experience in project accounting, producing monthly management accounts with a strong focus on project updates, and managing company payroll.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
